1 Scope 1.1 This standard prescribes the requirements for lipsalves (lipbalm) which are petroleum or vegetable oil based. 1.2 Emulsion types, either oil-in-water or water-in-oil are notincluded. This standard also does not cover, lipsalves whichcontain ingredients that have an effect on the physiologicalfunctions of the body or lips for which specific therapeutic claimsare made and also lipsticks or lipgloss.
