It applies to single supply or distributed supply systems. The Standard contains requirements for concentration, protected enclosures, quantity, halon 1301 supply, distribution system control systems and marking.

Use, possession and disposal of halon 1301 is restricted by legislation, including the Australian Government Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Act 1989 and Statutory Rules 1995 No. 389.
