Describes requirements for design and construction including materials, workmanship, inspection testing and marking of cast iron boilers for central heating and indirect hot water supply. Applies to boilers for hot water with rated heat output of 44 kW or above when used with one or more of the following fuels, smokeless solid fuels, e.g. furnace coke, low temperature coke or anthracite, bituminous coal fired by means of mechanical stokers and gaseous fuels of the 2nd and 3rd families (see BS 4947), and with rated heat output of 300 kW and above when used with liquid fuels of the classes given in BS 2869.
