This document specifies the size of the samples and the methods for performing the fracture tests to obtain information on the nature, size and distribution of internal irregularities such as porosities, cracks, bond defects, insufficient penetration and solid inclusions on the fracture surface. This document applies to metallic materials of all product types with joints having a thickness equal to or greater than 2 mm and produced by a fusion welding process.
