Specifies the composition, preparation, properties and application of a standard reference elastomer (SRE) made of hydrogenated acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR). This SRE is representative of cross-linked HNBR grades such as are widely used in the hydraulic and automotive industries for seals in contact with petroleum products. Their constituents and method of preparation ensure that they are adequately representative of the relevant material group, and their simple mix structure yields reproducible results.
