Defines a glow-wire test to simulate effects of thermal stresses produced by heat sources such as overload resistors or blowing elements for short periods, in order to assess fire hazards by a simulation technique. Applicable to electrotechnical equipment, its sub-assemblies and components. May also be applied to solid electrical insulating materials or other solid combustible materials.
