Applying together with DIN EN 545 for water pipelines and DIN EN 969 for gas pipelines, this standard specifies dimensions and requirements for ductile iron double spigot fittings with branching, provided with a cement mortar lining and a bitumen coating. Such fittings are intended for use in PN 10 to PN 40 drinking water supply systems and in gas pipelines rated for pressures up to 4 bar; if a gas pipeline is subject to pressures of 4-16 bar, its lining should be a subject for agreement.
