Describes types of building construction based on thecombustibility and the fire resistance rating of a building'sstructural elements. Fire walls; nonbearing exteriorwalls; nonbearing interior partitions; fire barrierwalls; shaft en-closures; and openings in walls, partitions,floors, and roofs are not related to the types of buildingconstruction and are regulated by other standards andcodes, where appropriate.
