The standard includes maximum acceptable methamphetamine levels to reduce risks of harm, contamination-level assessment processes, decontamination procedures, and post-decontamination verification that affected properties have been decontaminated and are safe to occupy. The standard is intended to assist a wide range of stakeholders, including property owners, managers and tenants, and local authorities (councils). It has been prepared with input from property interests, the insurance sector, local authorities, public health authorities, and those involved in screening, sampling, testing, and decontaminating methamphetamine-contaminated properties.
