Describes safety requirements and methods of test for: gas-fired central heating boilers with rated heat inputs up to 60 kW or up to 90 kW provided that they are part of a range of which at least 50% have ratings below 60 kW, and for gas-fired circulators of rated heat input not exceeding 8 kW. Includes requirements for natural draught and fan-powered boilers for open and sealed water systems and for circulators on open systems. Also applies to central heating boiler functions of appliances designed to supply instantaneous hot water. For appliances burning 2nd family gases it is assumed that a meter governor is fitted and for appliances burning 3rd family gases it is assumed that gas supply from container has a pressure regulator complying with BS 3016.
