Classifies recommended methods of protection against corrosion of steel and iron structures exposed to environments commonly encountered. Describes the various methods in detail and gives advice on how to specify a chosen protective system, how it should be maintained, and to ensure its correct application. The code does not include specific advice for offshore platforms, vehicles, ships, cladding materials, specialized chemical equipment; nor does it include detailed recommendations for cement mortar linings or plastics coatings. Does not give detailed recommendations on the use of weathering steels.
