General inspection and testing requirements including some steel making and composition requirements. Specific requirements covering as appropriate, chemical composition, mechanical properties, hardenability, heat treatment for hot rolled and normalized steels, bright bar, micro alloyed steels, through hardening, case hardening, stainless and heat resisting steels. Requirements for sizes and tolerances. Appendices include hardenability curves, guide to selection of through hardening steels and compari sons with steels in previous editions.
