General notes:
This standard is the subject of transitional arrangements agreed under a European Commission mandate. In order to allow for any changes in national regulations, the Commission in consultation with Member States has agreed a transition period for the co-existence of EN 13924 and corresponding national standards. At the end of this co-existence period BS 3690-1:1989 will be withdrawn. BS EN 13924:2006 partially replaces BS 3690-1 and introduces specifications for two hard paving grade bitumens designated by their penetration range, i.e. 10/20 pen and 15/25 pen.
