Describes electrically operated commercial griddles and griddle grills. The electrical part of appliances making use of other forms of energy is within the scope of this standard. Excludes continuous process griddles for the mass production of food, grills and appliances used in locations where special conditions prevail. In many countries additional requirements are specified by the national authorities responsible for health, water supplies, and the protection of labour. Covers protection against electric shock, insulation resistance and electric strength, abnormal operation, mechanical strength, components, resistance to heat, fire and tracking, resistance to rusting and radiation, toxicity and similar hazards.
