Applies to syringes ranging in capacity from 1 mL to 20 mL, but not to pre-filled syringes. Materials, capacity tolerance, dimensions, construction, scale, packaging, marking and other requirements are specified. Test requirements cover dead space, particulate contamination, extractable metals, freedom from pyrogens, toxicity and sterility. Test procedures are in appendices.
