Gives requirements for certain ready mixed materials for mortars and ready to use mortars. Excludes requirements for dry packaged mortar mixes. Provides categories of factory made mixtures composed essentially of lime:sand and water. Generally described as ready mixed lime:sand for mortar. Designates factory made cement:lime:sand and cement:sand mortars, containing a cement set retarding admixture used in masonry work, external plastering. Classifies factory made cement:sand mortars containing a cement set retarding admixture used in screeds. Excludes screeds using special aggregates to provide thermal and lightweight properties.
