1.1 This standard deals with the workmanship of non-loadbearing enclosures taking the form of back-ventilated claddings made from large-format panels or ceramic tiles, and any secondary frame to which it may be attached, used to cover walls, supports, balustrades, parapets and the soffits of covered thoroughfares, balconies, cantilevers and the like.1.2 This standard does not cover the following: a) the workmanship of back-ventilated claddings made from natural or cast stone with a nominal thickness of at least 30 mm (see DIN18332 and DIN18333); b) the workmanship of claddings made from timber boards or planks or wood shingles (see DIN18334); c) the workmanship of claddings from roof-covering materials (see DIN 18338); d) the making of metallic wall cladding units on site (see DIN18339); e) the making of timber and plastics cladding units on site (see DIN18355).1.3 Clauses 1 to 5 of DIN18299 shall also apply. In cases where the specifications of DIN18299 contradict the present standard, the latter shall take precedence.
