Outlines, with reference to ISO 230-1 and 230-2, machining and geometric tests, and tests for repeatability and accuracy of positioning axes on general purpose and normal-accuracy external universal and cylindrical grinding machines with movable table. Also defines the applicable tolerances which correspond to the tests above. Deals with machines with a swing diemater of 800 mm or less and distance between centres not over 4000 mm. Verifys the accuracy of the machine, but not to testing the running of it, or the features of the machine, which should usually be checked prior to testing of machine accuracy. Gives the terminology for principal parts of the machine and designation of axes with reference to ISO 841.
