Specifies a structure for uniquely identifying organisations for the purpose of facilitating data interchange. Also specifies requirements for the administration of International Code Designators (ICD) to designate code systems used to identify organisations for the purpose of data interchange. Not meant to facilitate routing within an automated message switching network; applies to the textual data which may be conveyed through such a system. Includes sections on Identification and Administration.
