Since these properties depend not only on the quality of the paint 1), but also on the substrate, the method used for applying the paint, the drying conditions and further factors, the results obtained are not directly transferable to actual practice. Therefore, the quality of emulsion paint coatings is evaluated on a defined substrate, with a specified dry film thickness and under specified drying conditions.
