Establishes safety criteria with respect to the design, construction and application of safeguards to the points of operation of mechanical power presses. Applies only to those mechanically powered machines that shear, punch, form or assemble metal or other materials by means of tools or dies attached to slides, commonly referred to as mechanical power presses.
