Covers electric clothes washing machines and extractors for use in non-hazardous locations on circuits of nominal voltage not exceeding 600 V, and in accordance with Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1, (CEC) and the (U.S.) National Electrical Code (NEC). Applies to permanently connected and cord connected machines that are intended for use by the general public not specifically trained in their use, regardless of how its operation is initiated. They are for household and commercial purposes, including machines provided with coin, ticket, or card operated mechanisms, wringer washers, tumbler, agitator and spinner machines, combination washer dryers, and extractors of the centrifugal type.
