General notes:
This standard is the subject of transitional arrangements agreed under a European Commission mandate. In order to allow for any changes in national regulations, the Commission in consultation with Member States have agreed a transition period for the coexistence of EN 10080:2005 and corresponding national standards. It is intended that EN 10080 should be used in conjunction with a technical specification that includes performance characteristics. Within the UK, BS 4449:2005, BS 4482:2005 and BS 4483:2005 have been revised for use with EN 10080, and these will be further revised by October 2007 so that they do not conflict with EN 10080.
