This Standard specifies the methods for measuring the colour of reflecting or transmitting objects according to the CIE 1931 standard colorimetric system and the CIE 1964 supplementary standard colorimetric system. When the colour of fluorescent objects is measured, it shall be in accordance with specification of JIS Z 8717. The XYZ and X10Y10Z10 shall be applied to cases where it is desirable to obtain a good correlation to the visual colour matching in the centrally-viewed field of angular subtenses between about 1 and about 4 degrees and in the centrally-viewed fields of angular subtenses greater than about 4 degrees.
