Specifies technical requirements for tubular fluorescent lamps with preheated cathodes operated with or without a starter and for lamps with non-preheated cathodes operated without the use of a starter. It prescribes the methods of testing to be used for checking quality and interchangeability for type testing, for individual batches or for the whole production of a manufacturer. The characteristics of specific lamp types are provided in the form of separate data sheets. Technically identical with and reproduced from IEC 81:1984.
