Proposes performance requirements and specifications for the manufacture and application of fibre insulating board (softboard), which was previously described in AS 2459-1982. It specifies dimensional tolerances and physical and mechanical properties for one grade of fibre insulating board. Appendices provide information on methods of compliance, recommended procedures for testing and acceptance, purchasing guidelines, storage and handling, and size of pack quantity combinations. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
