Establishes requirements for sharps containers to hold potentially infectious medical waste comprised of devices which can cause physical injury. Covers containers that are supplied complete by the manufacture and those that are supplied as components assembled by the user. Covers construction, resistance to penetration, resistance to impact by vertical dropping and resistance to leakage after dropping, resistance to damage by toppling and resistance to leakage after topping, colour, marking and information to be supplied by the manufacturer.
