CONTAINED IN VOL 01.06, 2001 Deals with steel in cut lengths and coils coated in lead-tin alloy by the hot-dip process. The material is usually referred to as terne and is used where ease of solderability and a degree of corrosion resistance are necessary. Particularly suitable when resistance to gasoline is needed. Terne-coated steel comes in a number of designations, grades and types.
