Standard refers to cold rolled strip in thicknesses up to 6mm and widths up to 1600mm, made from stainless steels with a wide range of uses. Sheet and plate cut from strip and to slit strip produced by longitudinal slitting and to rods (strips) cut therefrom. Hot rolled strip, wire rod, plate and sheet, drawn wire, steel bars, forgings and semi-finished products made from stainless steels are specified in DIN 17440, stainless tubes and pipes are contained in DIN 17455 to DIN 17458 CONTAINED IN DIN HDBK 405
