Provides guidance on the effective installation of a symbol sign system, both indoors and outdoors, by highlighting the problems that can be posed by the environment in which it is to be erected, and providing methods by which these may be overcome. Also gives guidance on the design of a bank of direction signs and the safe and effective heights and locations for mounting signs.
