CONTAINED IN VOL. 11.05, 2005Determines the lethality (LD50 value) and signs of acute toxicity from a material using a limited number of rats, and the "Up-and-Down Procedure", an alternative to the classical LD50 test, applicable to both liquids and solids. It is not recommended for test materials which usually produce deaths beyond 2 days post dosing.
