Covers quality system requirements where a contract between two parties requires demonstration of a supplier's capability to control the processes that determine the acceptability of product supplied. The requirements are aimed primarily at detecting and preventing any conformity during production and installation and implementing the means to prevent its recurrence. Applies in certain contractural situations: confidence in product conformance can be achieved by adequate demonstration of a certain supplier's capabilities (in production and installation) and the specified requirements for product are stated in terms of an established specifications or design.
