CONTAINED IN VOL 05.03, 2005 Defines a procedure for the distillation of heavy hydrocarbon mixtures with initial boiling points over 150 Degrees C (300 Degrees F), such as petroleum distillates, heavy crude oils, residues, and synthetic mixtures. Uses a potstill with low pressure drop entrainment separator operated under total takeoff conditions. Also defines distillation conditions and apparatus performance criteria, and illustrates typical apparatus.
