Applies to portable hand-held chain saws (internal combustion engine saws and electric saws; 'saws', for short) and specifies a method of measuring the vibration of such saws (identified by code number 61.212.2 in DIN 8800, September 1971 edition), the measurements being made as described in DIN 45675 Part 1. It provides specifications supplementary to DIN 45674 Part 1, the aim being to enable characteristic results to be obtained by measuring the vibration on saw handles under conditions closely resembling those in actual service.
