CONTAINED IN VOL. 13.01, 2001Describes basic requirements for tracheostomy tubes made of plastic materials or rubber, or both, having inside diameters of less than 6.0 mm. The tubes are primarily designed for pediatric patients who may require artificial ventilation, anesthesia, or other respiratory support, but need not be restricted to these uses. Excluded from the scope of this specification are specialized tubes.
