Defines materials for and dimensions of thimbles for wire ropes. Ordinary thimbles: 8 mm to 70 mm, reeving thimbles: 16 mm to 38 mm, and solid thimbles: 18 mm to 64 mm. Gives nominal size, quality of material, form and dimensions, tolerance on dimensions, boss and lightening hole in solid thimbles, workmanship, freedom from defect, condition and tests for galvanizing, inspection and manufacturer's records of material.
