Deals with the maintenance and supervision of insulating oil, including inhibited oils, as supplied to AS 1767 for use in transformers, switchgear, and certain other oil-immersed electrical equipment, where oil sampling is practicable. It describes the causes of oil deterioration in service, the tests which give information on the condition of the oil, and makes recommendations for treatment and periodic inspection of the oil.
