Gives methods enabling a sample to be used as the basis for determining a statistical tolerance interval. The statistical tolerance interval may be two or one-sided. The limits of the interval are called "statistical tolerance limits" or "natural limits of the process". Applicable only where it may be assumed that in the population under consideration the sample units have been selected at random and are independent. The methods described apply also only on condition that the distribution of the characteristic being studied is normal.
